Arts in the Woods is our annual retreat for over 50 queer/trans visual artists, performers, dancers, musicians, makeup, and culinary artists. The program uniquely encourages collaborations between different generations of queer artists. Half the artists are offered a break from homelessness in NYC. The other half are at different points in their journeys.
In 2014, through MoreArt’s Engaging Artist residency - I had the chance to join and document Arts in the Woods summer camp.
The relationship grew and continued. For the next year I taught life drawing and media workshops with Sue Jeong Ka.
